We see public education that results in passion and commitment to the enhancement and protection of marine and wildlife species.
Mission
Our mission is to enhance and protect the fresh and marine waters that support salmonids and the habitats in which they live along the East coast of Vancouver Island.
To fulfill our mission, the Nile Creek Enhancement Society is engaged in the volunteer operation of a salmon hatchery, restoration of habitats supporting salmonid species, such as Pinks, Coho, Chum, and Cutthroat Trout, stream rehabilitation, kelp replantation, eelgrass mapping and monitoring and public education.
Vision and Values
We envision thriving ecosystems in all of our local streams, as well as in the marine waters within the Strait of Georgia and the entire Salish Sea.
We also recognize the benefits of forest and watershed protection to sustain a healthy river for the survival of salmonids. We see the interdependence of the forest and salmonids and the dependence of both on a fully functioning watershed.
We value the cooperation and collaboration with other groups and organizations and the participation and support of individuals and businesses in our community.
We see public education that results in passion and commitment to the enhancement and protection of marine and wildlife species.
