Looking back at 2015, a very busy year!

Losing groundIn December 2014 torrential rains and high winds topple a 450- year-old Douglas Fir which had been situated up the bank above the spawning channels and meters from the hatchery. The access road beyond the hatchery was totally blocked by the huge twisted and splintered trunk. Removal of the section across the road required a heavy duty chain saw to cut the trunk into manageable pieces and an excavator to place the pieces into a dump truck. Clean-up of the fallen giant continued into the new year. Guess you could say we started 2015 with a bang!
